For the past six years, McGill's Desautels Business Conference on Sustainability has created an enthusiastic symposium composed of distinguished academic minds, outstanding corporate professionals, and some of the brightest university students across North America. These different stakeholders come together once a year to exchange ideas and build upon concepts of how business relates to sustainability. This year, DBCS "A Catalyst for Change" will seize the opportunity to reach out to a new group of delegates and instill in them the idea that environmentalism is much more than simply new infrastructure, ‘green' technology, and business opportunity. We hope to empower these students to be the future catalysts for change of the corporate world.
Established in 2003, The DBCS is a fully student-initiated and student-run annual conference. It was born through management students answering the increasingly pressing call for action in the environmental and social spheres of our business world. The conference invites leading experts from corporations, non-government organizations and academia to speak to students and provide them with the tools, knowledge, and skills they need to help ensure a sustainable future. DBCS focuses on the three realms of sustainability that affect and are affected by business practices: social, economic and environmental.
